Ain't No Makin' It Chapter 7

Conclusion

Congratulations!  You have gathered perhaps enough data to fill an entire chapter of your developing book.  You are a top-of-the-line sociologist!

It is now time to analyze who will most likely be better off in the future.  You find it likely that the Brothers are more likely to be better off than the Hallway Hangers.  Their low self esteem will not eclipse the fact that they do have high school diplomas, which will allow them to obtain steady, secure jobs that will most likely be toward the bottom of the social ladder.

The Hallway Hangers do not have nearly as bright of a future.  Many of them are already at least alcoholic and may be dependent on drugs as well.  Their career choices will be limited to the lowest of jobs or they will simply be unemployed.  Even Slick, the Hanger that chose the occupational path despite his good grades, may end up living every day just trying to get by in life.

If you as a reader have noticed the lack of choices available in this Choose Your Own Adventure- based presentation, then you may now also realize the lack of choices available when one is born into a situation such as those of the Hallway Hangers and the Brothers.  I, the author, was not simply lazy and did not want to create several situations.  Rather, I wanted to illustrate the main theme of the book.  Get it?
